Every C230 gets up to 98-99C coolant temp when creeping in warm weather with the AC working reasonably hard. Mine has done so since the very first day I brought it home, brand new.
But, that said, it does not reach those temps unless the ambient temp is above 24-25C and the car is working to cool the interior. Does your car operate ay 98C all the time in stop and go?
