Lightbulb About Overvoltage Protection Relay

Thanks again to M.B.Doc for very helpful information. I understand your point that the Overvoltage Protection Relay must be functioning and the 10 amp fuse on top of the relay must be good (It is good). It would appear that the relay could be tested out of the car by applying 12V to pin 6, ground to pin 5 and then use an ohmmeter to check path from pin 1 to pin2 with and without the applied voltage to the relay coil.

I suspect there is some electronics inside that relay can that can be damaged but this test seems safe. Do ou agree?
PS This car is dry as a bone but I understand your point.
