I believe the Green Key is utilized to transfer the unlock sequence to the EIS as well as the initial information about the vehicle. It may also trigger a "learn key(s) program." Activating the EIS is a seperate operation, manually performed with the SDS unit. If you are able to get it to start than I would think some of the functions are present, however there may be some functions that are not "online" yet. I do not know how deep the I-scan will take you into the EIS's many different layers of information and installer level "version coding."
The replacement EIS needs to learn the digital coding of each key, each key can take up to 90 minutes to be learned into the system. When the key rotates in the EIS unit the key has been learned and it is authorized to start the car.
