I have to replace the expansion tank in an early 92 500SEL. They changed the cap (thankfully), so I have the new style tank and cap.

However, after unbolting the tank, I can't slide it off the post underneath.

Any ideas what might be holding it on the slotted nylon post? I can't see under there.
