I'd say that sale is an example of a perfect storm. Demand for diesel cars is up, the car appears quite nice and is a real special edition, and the ebay ad is well crafted. I'm amazed that it went for that price, congrats to the seller.

In my '95 I consistently get 700 miles on a tank. Most ever was 762. But I put in 23.4 gallons that day! That means I had about a quart of fuel left! 90 liter tank holds 23.77 gallons....

I bet if I drove at a steady 60, took it easy on the go pedal, I could make 800 on a tank. (I find 900 hard to believe, but hey, maybe it was all down hill?)

BTW, as a data point, I paid $8K for mine 2 years ago with 140K. But cosmetically it's average at best. Mechanically it's fine. 211K today.
