When I first got my Benz I noticed it revs higher at hwy speed than the typical US vehicle. My V8 Durango loafs along at 1800 RPM @ 65 MPH but the Miata turns 3500 @ 65 in 5th gear... Different engine speeds for different applications, but normal nonetheless.
