I use my left foot on the brake, always. Actually, that is what professional driving instructors teach you to do, contrary to all the state driver's test questions that insist you need to use your right foot! Accordingly, I always have my left foot on the brake when I am shifting out of Park -- so don't pay much attention to the safety system. It really is good to have on there in some cases. I will have to check to see if my 420SEL and 300CE actually have that system on board. I don't think my 68 230S has it and don't know about the 99 ML. BC
