The light flashing when the tires spin is normal I believe, at least that is what it does on the newer cars. When the system is working to stop the tires from spinning it will flash to show it is active. This is what my W203 does when I get on the gas too much. It will brake and cut the fuel on mine to eliminate wheel spin.
