It may be true that it's 180 degrees off. You can retime the camshaft if you're careful. First position the crankshaft at 45 degrees before TDC and remove the chain tentioner and the cam sprocket. Rotate the cam 180 degrees to 45 degrees before TDC and then replace the chain and tentioner. Turn the crank to TDC and check the cam timing.
