if you have followed the directions correctly you should be able to put it back on according to your own marks. if the fw was correctly placed before you started. did the car idle smoothly?

on my 84 euro 280 we found very faint marks between the bolt holes. an ellipse with a double mark that looked more or less like a deer track. a split oval with rounded ends.

almost not visible with the naked eye.
