We have discussed this ad nauseum, search. If you buy the 2930 built in Turkey you are buying one of the better filters left on the market for the MB diesels. Don't buy the 2930 made in Mexico or if you play the odds, any filter made in mexico or india. This is the cotton gin waste issue. If you don't want sticks, bugs, rocks and dirt in your filter, this is one to buy.
Name brands do not guarantee that a product is built by the company named on the product. Most products are built by subcontractors and relabeled with many brand names. Filters are available with many brand names, most come from a couple factories with sticks, bugs, rocks and dirt in them.

Would anyone be interested in this filter with a microfiber/synthetic fiber instead of paper? It seems like a no brainer to me. Anyone know what the micron rating of the best quality filter available right now? Nominal or absolute rated? Any documentation? If I can get some basic info I will mail one of my filters off to Hy-Pro and see if they will run a special for us. They are really competative on their prices, but the best part is that they make the best filter material on the market right now. They have been doing research for several years on the dynamic shock unloading problem in standard filters (when a car hits a bump the other filters unload some of what they caught, the paper filters unload LOTS of what they caught) and have come up with material really resists this problem. They army seemed to like the filters. It has helped reduce the failure rates on the hydraulic servos in their helicopters by catching and HOLDING ON TO the contaminants.
I just ordered several of the Mann filters (A6002-21038).

I hope that it is one that everyone agrees is a good filter. I didn't really search much here to see what was the one to go with.
I'm really interested in the micron rating of the filter. The rest they can get from a sample filter.
