This just happened to me on my 2002 ML320. BAS ESP lights are on after disconnecting (on vacation) and re-connecting the battery when I got back.

I re-charged the battery to full...started up engine....BAS ESP light still on.

I will try the steering wheel trick tonight.

Any other ideas to clear this before I replace brake switch?
