Team - help me on this one, please...

91 3003 2.6, the on-off switch for the recirculation has no effect, the car is stuck on recirculate, as well as stuck on A?C blowing hi-lo onto the windshield, but cool air is also coming out of the dash vents.

I seem to remember somehting in the Forum about a relay causing the system to default to hi-lo as a safety feature to keep the windshield clear.

I had put a junk-yard control unit in, beacuse the temp wheel wasn't working right.... could this be the culprit, and can the temp wheel be swapped out individually (don't remember)?? I still have the original control unit, so my thinking is go back to the old buttons with the newer temp wheel, if possible.

I wouldn't think this is a blend door or vacuum problem, as the worked fine up until last week changing belt and belt tensioner.....but hey, who knows, right
