Car is an '83 300 D

If the door lock system loses all vacuum immediately (evidenced with mityvac) when operating the driver's door lock, is the leak between the driver's door and the engine? OR, could it be anywhere in the system? It seems way too fast, again due to the needle on the mityvac, to be elsewhere, but I still can't find anything leaking. Any suggestions?
