Not wearing seat belts . . .

Hey, Aklim, it's not as bad as mass murder. What's the big deal?

I think that there should be a law which allows one to exempt oneself from things like wearing helments (on motorcycles), seat belts, etc. by signing a waiver. Once a person has done this, it would be like signing a Do Not Resuscitate order in the hospital. The EMT checks your license, sees the waiver, and then moves on to the next guy.

I'm not one of the people who believes it's our government's responsibility to protect me from myself. I find such a situation to be intrusive, demeaning, and obnoxious.

Anybody else feel this way? I know you're out there.
