My 1990 300d 2.5 TD developed the following. Initially alternator idiot light started glowing faintly until engine above 1000rpm..sorta like old VW's used to do...then next morning, I was presented with every dash idiot light lit..except hi/lo headlamp indicator. Engine started and runs normally.

Whats going on?
