My 99 E300 has intermittent blower malfunctions where occasionally the interior fan does not come on. Most of the time it works just fine. Malfunction has occurred in winter and summer with climate control set on AC or EC. AC and heat both work fine but at times there is no fan to push the air out. Display (on very cold or hot days) goes to Hi fan speed and stays there with no air coming out.

I can sometimes turn fan speed down manually and turn unit off, then restart car, engage AUTO and have the fan come on. At times not.

Doing SteveBFl's vent test I get #1-15 and can then toggle low and hi for each; fan never changes speed. I can hear the vents opening and shutting.
