I just picked up a w108 (?) 1972 280se.

It seems to have a sticky throttle problem. I tried disconnecting various linkages and it seems like the problem might be closer to the accelerator pedal. it seems like the linkage dissappears down between the manifolds and then connects over to the firewall. is this common? any words of wisdom before I start taking things apart?
