I think ilford will still be a safe bet for your B&W supplies for a few more years. B&W photography is a joy for me. I started developing when during a tough time at work (too much work, not enough resources). There was nothing like sitting in a dark room after a 12 hour day in front of a computer. I have thought about going digital and buying a nice DSLR but I don't think I'll enjoy sitting in front of photo shop more then spending time in a dark room.
i agree 100%. I used to print with Oriental Seagull #4 very high contrast and at the time the only paper you could buy that had that much silver in it. Ilford will corner the market on paper, i don't know if Agfa is still producing, I liked printer on their Portrega paper, nice warm tones. Digital doesn't do it for me with my personal work.
