I think ilford will still be a safe bet for your B&W supplies for a few more years. B&W photography is a joy for me. I started developing when during a tough time at work (too much work, not enough resources). There was nothing like sitting in a dark room after a 12 hour day in front of a computer. I have thought about going digital and buying a nice DSLR but I don't think I'll enjoy sitting in front of photo shop more then spending time in a dark room.

You guys should just buy a digital camera. You can get a pretty nice one at WalMart for under $100 now, and you can have full color prints made right there in the store in just a few minutes. Much less work.
