That poor kid should be able to make his own decision. Forcing him to suffer through chemo again when he is clearly intelligent enough to make his own decision is simply disgusting.

This would be different in my mind if he were younger (as in his parents obviously making the decision) and it were the first round of chemo he were declining. Even then I can't say I'm really sure what my thoughts are on that, though.

I think the 85% survival statistic they cite is misleading. I seriously doubt that 85% of the people who relapse that quickly survive.

A good friend of mine was diagnosed with Hodgkins when she was 24. She relapsed three (was it four?) times and died earlier this year. I think she was 29.

I'm glad the kid can evidently make his own decision now.
