Ditto. Not only that, but the heat shields really only help when the car is hot and you drive or park in places that have tall grass (as an example) or alot of dry leaves maybe. The heat shields are supposed to keep the grass and crap underneath the car from catching fire. (OK, so I read that in a Ford service manual. Take it or leave it.)

If you ride in your car barefoot alot you may notice the floor becoming warmer than before, but otherwise in regular city/highway use the heat shields are pretty well worthless. All in all it's actually better for your car to be able to be rid of exhaust heat easier anyway.
