The OP's problem is his difficulty understanding the whole inverse square relationship. It's like I try and tell people, yeah, drop 10lbs and you'll fly up those hills on a bike. It's not that you're dragging 10 up a hill, you have to multiply that by gravitational force which is 9.8m/s SQUARED.
