The Outcome...

Gilly et al.,

Ok, so the resolution to this was to have the car towed to a local shop I use for smaller stuff. Nice guys, but not really into my car, as the owner had one for a long time and doesn't enjoy working on them.

They put it on the rack with everything in place as I'd left it, went and got a hammer. One guy held the linkage in place while the other guy smacked it twice and then they put the bolt back. Done.

They asked for $20, I gave them $60 because they did it on the spot and didn't laugh at me.

And the moral of the story is: Craigers needs to pay attention to what it looked like before he puts his grubby hands on things so he'll know when a good whack will fix things.
