The bolt is a M8 X 1.00 I just had to make one for the 240D's new steering box.
The steering boxes are different, according to Mercedes shop.com. But if jbaj007 gave the right Mercedes tool number based on the W126 manual then that is the same Mercedes tool number used for the W123 steering box. And it is a M8 X 1.00. Get a 20MM length bolt.
The tie rods go from the wheel steering arm to the drag link or center link. There are 2 arms and each end has a ball joint on them.
