EVERY engine that I have torn down for rebuild (over 250k miles) the plastic oil pump chain tensioner was the one that was worn the most - bar none. I've got pics if anyone is interested. The oil pump chain tensioner makes the timing chain tensioners look "long lived" in comparison.
