When you say W123 "estate", I assume your in Great Britian. Estate was not used in the U.S.

I know that certian wagons came without SLS in the W123 world wide. Might I suggest you go to a local Mercedes dealer and inquire about the none SLS wagon setup. Get the part numbers for everything needed for the conversion. And if you do PLEASE post them here for us in the U.S.
