My new wife and I plan to honeymoon in in Germany in November and will most likely just pay for everything with a credit card, which will then be paid, in full, upon our return. I honestly don't even HAVE a credit card at the moment -- I just a debit card. So, when shopping for a CC, what should I look for? Are there companies that offer better fees for international ATM withdrawls (in local currency, of course)? Or good cashback awards for spending? I haven't used a CC in years (ever since getting in debt during college, which I feverishly worked to get out of thereafter).
Any recommendations? We'll be flying into Munich and renting a car, driving to Garmisch for about a week, then just winging it. I requested a rate for a subcompact, manual-tranny diesel. We'll see if they oblige!
