I once worked for a music store where the owners kept two large dogs on the premises...a German Shepherd and a Shepherd/Lab mix. Lovable dogs, very docile (lab mix usually snoozed under one of the grand pianos).
Sometimes having them around was awkward. The lab mix would awaken from his nap and trot over to a customer by the counter and "introduce" himself "nose-first"!
I've had the Shepherd gulp down lunches a few times when I wasn't looking.
More than once, the dogs would inadvertently get locked in the store after closing. Didn't really bother the dogs much, but they would amble about the store at night and trip the silent alarms.
