I have a Toshiba laptop with a shiney screen. I thought it might have a lot of glare and reflections, too. It hasn't been a problem and the image is bright and very clear.

Now that I've said that, I too, will being buying a Mac the next time around. My Microsoft stock has been as disappointing as their operating system seems to be.
