I'll double check mine on the way home, but I think mine shifts 3 times...1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 3 to 4.

When you say "flare" do you mean that it kind of winds up in the middle of a shift? Mine is does that, but only if I drive it too lightly (or if not warmed up)..once I'm a little more aggressive with the 'gas' pedal the problem seems to go away. I'm planning to troubleshoot it as a vacuum issue..bought the vacuum tester and everything!

I'll post the results tonight/Thursday am.
