Greg, I'm not an owner but can verify that 126 chassis as a whole don't have front plastic shields inside the wheel wells, I guess you'd call them wheel well liners or shields. Lots of metal in there, not much plastic, yeah you can see the shocks and springs and stuff just fine.
Not sure where you mean on the other question, like inboard of the headlights or on top of the bumper or???? Can you take a pic and post it of the area in question on your car??
