After draining and replacing the filter/pan gasket, fill up with just a few quarts. Then take the car on a 20 minute drive to get it heated up nice and hot. Measure the transmission temperature using the laser thermometer and fill the fluid to the appropriate level indicated on the dipstick for your particular temperature.
