It's the linkage bushing that provides support for.. all of it. Without it, the engine is very very laggy. Note that the original part is a yellow waxy substance- aging nylon. I replaced it with a HDPE part that I made on the lathe.
Note that the stock part includes a hub protusion to keep the linkage from sliding in and out- I omitted that(hard to make) and used a $.62 8mm shaft collar to do a better job.

Again, that is for the 123, not the 116.
