Crooked engine.

I am in the process of putting a turbo 5 cyl engine in my 240d and it is sitting in the engine bay sideways. The engine is in and bolted to new engine mounts, but the transmission cross member is not bolted up yet. I can lever it straight, but it takes a fair amount of force. The motor mounts also look like they are not compressing evenly. Should I just force it into place and bolt up the transmission cross member? I want it to all be mounted correctly. Thanks for the help.
