That could be alot of things. #1 on the list is to check the fuel mixture tower to see if the safety ball is still in place. If not I'd suspect some chap was making adjustments they had no real technical background to support doing (in other words someone was screwing with it who is kinda dumb). Probably richened the hell out of it.
Other possiblities, well you want to make sure all 8 plugs are firing, and/or maybe a bad fuel dizzy or a few leaking injectors.
