I changed to GoDaddy this year after suffering through several less than desirable host. So far I have had no service interruptions. The interesting contrast with GoDaddy is their customer service, you can talk to a real person! They actually call you every 6 months or so just to check in and make sure everything is going alright. Nice, but odd in this day and age.
