Mine was a 1965 Mercury Park Lane, the big 4-door sedan with the reverse-slanting power window in the rear and an acre of trunk. Bought it for $500 in 1981. Not exactly the most economical car around; I think I got 15 mpg on the highway once. But it was smooth and solid, and never failed to start.

I sold it in 1985 for the same amount to a family who needed room for their kids.
