Check the wiring harness.
Make sure the P/S doesn't leak.
Make sure the trans. engages nicely, and into reverse in a timely manner.
If you test drive, turn it off a few times here and there, after getting up to speed - see if you can make it trip a Code 19 check engine light.

Get ALL repair records and go through them!
