Sure. Good idea. While you are at it, raise the price of food, rent, etc, etc. Only a total moron believes that you can get $hitboxes off the road that way and they will stay off after that but gas prices won't affect anything else. You sound like those kids on a spook movie. Summon the demon to do your bidding and expect it to do your dirty work and disappear.
Yep, add another dollar for gas taxes. Brilliant. Give the govt more money to play with. Ever thought of giving crack addicts the key to the crack supply? WI just shuffled 425 mil from the transport fund (gas tax) to some other project to balance the budget and 600 mil before that. I don't mind paying gas taxes to fix the roads but they say it is necessary then shuffle it around which tells me that it is not necessary in the first place.
Why don't you grow a pair and shoot up those $hitboxes you are so fond of and place a label on them warning them what happens to those sort of vehicles. That will scare people from buying them and achieve your goals hurting less people.
