Gilly - please post the start date for the pan magnet if you can find it. I need to know if my '99 has one since a transmission service is coming up. Had the transmission serviced at 50,000 miles and there is no indication of the dealer installing a pan magnet. So mine either already has one or the bulletin from Mercedes hadn't come out yet saying to add one. Also, I seem to recall a thread here that the pan magnet now used is the one from the A class and the cost has gone from about five bucks to about fifteen bucks.
