A good body man can match the paint color perfectly. My dad had a silver Toyota Supra Turbo that lived under a black cloud. It was the victim of a serious hit and run that trashed the right rear quarter of the car.

I had a buddy in the body shop business who fixed it and when it was done, you could not see the repair. The paint was a perfect match. One down side is that he used lacquer for the repair area which is not as durable as the factory paint. I will also say that because your paint is at least 21 years old and is "aged" it may be harder to get an exact match to the existing gloss level.
