Interested in Midwest

Hello,

I posted the below message on the Performance ring... I would indeed be interested in learning more about the conversion. For my situation, all I would need are the parts. I have a great mechanic who has a top notch german car shop who is intrigued enought to donate his time on the weekends to help me out with this. My 95 E420 just hit 190K, looks like it has 30K. Quite a nice car, just want to soup it up at bit. Feel free to contact me at any time to discuss this further.

Regards,

Aaron

I may be considered certifiable for even thinking of this... Has anyone ever hear of or know of anyone who has converted a W124 V8 over to a manual tranmission? Perhaps a R129 V8 SL? I have a lovely (but high mileage) 95 E420. The engine is amazingly smooth and profoundly powerful. A real sleeper. It is my daily driver, soon to be a secondary toy (Waiting for the R320 CDI). BMW has always offered a manual with their 8s, I just don't find beamers as durable and don't care for the styling. I know there are plenty of trannys that can take the power and the torque (Getrag units, and some ZF manuals), but have never really been able to find any info. Any info or ideas or thoughts would be most appreciated.
