Here's the deal: when put in D transmission shifts perfect 1-2 shift but when it goes to 3rd it spins; when place in 3 it shifts perfect one shift ten spins next shift; P-R-2 engagements are smooth and w/o problem. Recently installed a new modulator valve no improvement in symptoms but made transmission shift even smoother. Questions: (1) can the modulator valve be adjusted to cure this problem? (2) heard about installing a new K-27 spring; what is it; what's the part No.; does it go in the valve body and can it be changed in place? (3) could it be the valve body; what's the part number and can it be changed in place? Been around thees transmissions long enough to know that full rebuild is not needed because all gears work as God and Mercedes intended except for the slip in last gear change. I would appreciate any suggestions.
