Considering the car has around 120,000 miles on it and the price paid was in the low 10Ks it makes me wonder. Aftermarket seems the most logical solution .... but again I might be wrong!
Keep in mind many people look under cars. Many buyers looking at a car that new have no idea "when" the aftermarket parts were put in. Many people put OE MB parts on 25 year old diesels. With the sheer numbers of similar cars on the market it may make a number of buyers pass on your car and you will get an average to low value when you sell it.

Shop around and get a good deal on the OE part and have an independant install it. Your car still has plenty of life and value at 120K. Don't send the message to the next owner that you were lazy and cheap.
