i guess the biggest worry is some kid prying it off my son's car at college.
The salesman was "gruff" because anyone going after the high mileage badge is NOT a prospect for a new car, and smart enough to know the smart thing is to keep fixing the good old one. The kind of person that will not be in every couple of years trading for another new one.

That's why you wouldn't get anything in the way of dealer follow up.
Just keep in the good graces of the parts department guys at the dealer, that's all you need to worry about!

I've never heard of a Mercedes or Volvo high mileage badge getting ripped off, it's the hood stars that go, and which might wind up around some guy's neck on a big chain - NOT a high mileage badge....
