i am sure your comments about minority people being down on their own who they think are too "uppidy" or similar have truth in them. and this is tragic.

i dont know the answer, but there is a lot of blaming the victims going on around lately. the most disgusting was in the aftermath of katrina.

As you all know by now I am Hispanic. I was bornin Cuba. My wife is Hispanic. She was born in Mexico.

I find NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING wrong with Kip's comments.

It is not alleged racism that may hold me back. It is the attitudes and action of many Hispanics, as described by Kip, that may hold me back.

When someone hears my last name, w/o knowing more, right away the assume that I am one "of those" Hispanics that Kip described.

And uess what, given the percentages I can't blame that person for assuming the worst about me.

So if I have to work 2x, 3x, 4x times as hard to prove myself, it is because of the actions of the milions of idiots who come to this country, presumably because their country was a ****hole and guess what, they turn their barrios into ****holes.

So who is holding me back? The white "racists" or the stupid Hispanics, who by their actions provide fodder to the racists?

Think about that one tom.

All I ask Kip, and people who are inclined to think like him, is to keep an open mind.

For example, yesterday I had a crew at my place cleaning, trimming and cutting down some dead trees. The busines owner is Hispanic, I've known him fo a while. He came here from Sonora, illegally. He eventually became a citizen.

He began his landscaping busines like most of these guys do, with a beat up Toyota truck and used tools. Now he owns a succesful business, owns expensive, new, heavy-duty equipment, has a full, regular, uniformed crew, has a license and carries insurance.

And look at what Cubans have done in Miami. In the span of one generatoion cubans have become leaders in busines, politics, the entertainment industry, etc.

Again, all I ask Kip is to keep an open mind and all I ask you tom is to stop coddling these people and stop making excuses for them.
