This is our first post.
We just purchased a 1975 450 sl with 108,000 miles.

The electrical lead to tha air cleaner was was disconnected.When i reattached this lead the engine became very rough and stalled.
We had a tough time getting the car running again until i disconnected the lead.
What does this part do and what trouble shooting procedures should i follow.We dont have any manuals for the car as of yet.
