First re the 560.....just to clarify re the suspension, in Europe you also have the option of the all round self levelling suspension, not just the rear self levelling suspension as fitted to my 560...having done some searches I understand that the all round self levelling suspension was not an option in the US.
Other than the noise when you hit an expansion joint the car rides smoothly.
Second, re my Hammer, its a genuine AMG factory built W124 that was one of the first Hammers produced and is the only known right hand drive Hammer left....research shows that there were only 2 right hand drive Hammer sedans produced. Mine was the original AMG demonstrator car used in the UK and used to wear the registration " 1 AMG". The car was reviewed by a number of motoring magazines in the mid 80's, and I have copies of these.
I found the car a couple of years ago in a barn with a cracked engine block. The engine rebuild (new block obtained) is virtually complete and is due to be re-installed next week.
Thankfully I managed to track down some of the mechanics who used to work for the AMG agents here in the UK in the 80/early90's who were able to work on the quad cam heads and still had all of the engine data to set up the timing etc etc and also knew some of the little secrets that these engines hold, that are crucial to getting them to run right.
In terms of colour its blue/black metallic with a light blue leather interior and Recarro seats. The car was originally Diamond Blue Metallic but was changed in the late 80's by the AMG Agents as the new owner didn't like Diamond Blue...can't say I blame him. He also had all of the AMG bodykit taken off apart from the Hammer alloys as he wanted a real wolf in sheeps clothing effect.
I have no idea how it drives as I bought it with a bust engine, but by all accounts it shifts.
But if its faster than my 320bhp W124 300E Twin Turbo that I recently sold , which it should be, then I am guaranteed an interesting ride.
Once the car is up and running its going to be road tested by a couple of classic car magazines over here and then put up for sale as I have a number of business projects on the go, but first I'll have to have some fun in her FIRST!
