just wanted to post an update,i ordered a new bracket for the crank sensor and installed it, that took care of the severe surging, so as i thought, it is very critical to have that in the proper position, now it runs great.
tomorrow i will have to diagnose the high idle, there is no voltage to the idle control valve. hopefully i will get to drive it tomorrow.
the guy who worked on this prior to me was a real hack!! i found he had glued and used a zip tie for the connector from the fuel distributor to the throttle valve .
we spent the better of two days fixing all of his mistakes. it looked like it had been to tijuana for the final assembly.
